NCP tastes success in Kerala

Two NCP candidates Thomas Chandi and S.K. Saseendran who contested from Kuttanad and Elathoor respectively, emerged victorious in the Kerala Assembly.

Chandi won by 4,891 votes and Saseendran won by 2957 votes. NCP had formed an alliance with the Left parties prior to these elections. The left parties have now come to power and therefore the NCP will also be a part of the government. NCP State President Sunil Tatkare had expressed his happiness and satisfaction on this victory.

Tatkare also said that the result of the elections in the five states indicates the fact that the regional parties are strengthening their hold. Mamta Banerjee emerged victorious in West Bengal and Jayalalitha managed to remain in power. Tamil Nadu has seen a shift in power every five years, this election being an exception.

However, Kerala has continued this trend. He also said that going by the numbers, BJP has only entirely been entire successful in the state of Assam. After Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister, BJP has essentially experienced loss.
